A police officer and his wife were found dead at their residence in the city’s Chamelibagh area on Friday evening.
The victims were identified as Inspector Mahfuzul Islam and his wife Swapna. Mahfuzul was posted in the Special Branch (SB) of Police.
Police suspected that the couple was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants 2-3 days back. Being informed, a team of Paltan Police Station rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies in the evening.
There were marks of injuries caused with sharp weapons all over the bodies of the victims, police said.
