Two people were killed and another injured when a human hauler was hit by a train at a level crossing at Gazipur’s Kaliganj Upazila.The accident took place around 5.30am Friday at the Upazila’s Dariparha rail crossing, police said.The deceased were identified as the vehicle’s driver ‘Rasel’, 30, and passenger Rahim Uddin, 35.Quoting witnesses, Kaliganj Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Pintu said the bar at the level crossing was down as the Dhaka-bound Noakhali Express was approaching. But Rasel tried to cross the rail-line defying the barrier. In the process his vehicle was rammed by the train.Rasel and Rahim died on the spot. The injured was rushed to a local hospital.The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue, SI Pintu said. – bdnews24.com
