The body of a Cambrian College student, who drowned in the Madhabkunda Waterfall in Barolekha upazila of Moulvibazar district on Sunday, was recovered on Monday morning.
The body of Jasim Sheikh, a second year student of the college and son of Shaikh Sheikh of Tongi in Gazipur, was retrieved around 10am, 21 hours after he had drowned in the waterfall.
Later, the body was handed over to his relatives after completing formalities, said police super of Moulvibazar Totail Ahmed.
Police said a group of 14 students and teachers of Cambrian College situated in the capital came to visit the waterfall from Dhaka on Sunday.
While taking his bath with the group members, Jasim suddenly drowned at about 1pm. – UNB
