The unknown miscreants have killed a youth by chopping at Suti-Durgapur village under Jhenidah sadar upazila on Sunday night. The police recovered the body from a dried irrigation canal on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Yusuf Hossain, 29, son of Ibrahim Biswas of village Lakkhikole of the upazila.
Jhenidah police station officer in charge (OC)Kazi Jalal Uddin Ahmed said, a gang of unknown miscreants on April 18 had abducted Yusuf with a microbus from the Water Development Board colony of the district town on gun point.
The police said, there were a number of stab injuries on the parts of the victim. The OC however said, Yusuf was released from the district prison suffering 14 years in a murder case. But the police could not detect the killing motive.
A case was filed with Jhenidah police in this connection. No one was arrested till Monday afternoon, the police said.Jhenidah Correspondent
