Bomb blasted at Dhaka DC office: 2 injured

Miscreants blasted three hand bombs in Dhaka’s Deputy Commissioner’s office in the capital leaving two people injured on Tuesday.
The bombs were exploded at the courtroom of an Executive Magistrate located at the ground floor of the building around 12noon. The Magistrate was not present in his room during the incident, but his employees including others concerned were present.The injured people were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital and National Medical College Hospital. They were identified as Harunur Rashid, a lecturer of Gaibandha Degree College and his friend Hanif. Besides, Abul Kashem, an employee of the court also injured in the incident was taken to the nearby National Medical College Hospital.
The offices of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) are located on the ground floor of the building.
Akter-Ul-Islam, an apprentice lawyer- a witness of the incident said, a door of the courtroom was burnt and window glasses were shattered due to the blasts.
Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shah Alam said, a clerk of a lawyer was detained on the spot in connection with the incident.
However, the bomb blasts raised worries amid people present on the sport, as the building is considered located in a very secured area. – Court Correspondent
