Two people, including an assistant general prosecutor (AGP), were
injured when two crude bombs exploded at the Bogra Judge Court
premises on Monday, the first day of the Opposition 18-Party
alliance’s nationwide 60-hour shutdown.
Former general secretary of Bogra Bar Golam Rabbani Khan Roman said
the explosions took place around 12pm at the court premises.
AGP Abdus Salep and a hawker were injured in the blasts. Roman said
both of them were sent to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College
and Hospital.
Bogra Sadar Police Station OC Syed Shahid Alam said a handmade bomb
also blasted in front of the station around midday. But there were no
casualties.
Earlier in the morning, strikers set fire to a motorcycle at Mahasthan.
Around 4am, a goods-laden truck lost control and fell on a roadside
ditch at Noymail area of the district’s Shahjahanpur Upazila after
strike supporters hurled brickbats at it.
Pickets vandalised the truck after it fell on the ditch, said the
driver’s assistant Rashed.
He also claimed that the pickets also beat driver ‘Jahidul’, 39, and
