BPL: Kings share top slot beating Brothers 3-2

Dhaka – Defending champions Bashundhara Kings shared the top slot in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football with a 3-2 goals victory over Brothers Union Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Tuesday.

After the day’s match, big budgeted Bashundhara Kings advanced to the top slot of the league along with Saif Sporting Club securing seven points each from three matches.

Kings back to the winning memento after a frustrating draw against newcomers Bangladesh Police FC in the last match while lowly rated Brothers Union made big surprise in the last match after playing draw against former champions Sheikh Russel KC.

Kings captain Daniel Colindres made the difference between the two teams. He himself scored a goal and assisted in other two goals.

Holders Bashundhara Kings dominated the match from the very beginning and took lead in the 17th minute.

Mohammad Ibrahim put the Kings ahead by a powerful left footer, utilizing a pass from day’s play maker cum captain Daniel Colindres (1-0).

Bashundhara Kings extended their lead in the 44th minute by a same combination. Colindres gave a nice through pass to Ibrahim, who found the Brothers net by an angular shot from left wing (2-0).

Two minute after the half time (47th minute), Bashundhara captain Colindres scored the 3rd goal by a calculative and quality cheap, making fool the Brothers defenders and goalkeeper (3-0).

After conceding three goals in a row, Brothers Union were wake up. Nigerian booter Kingsley  reduced the Brothers margin in the 63rd minute.

He received a cross from left side and sent the ball home nicely by a side volley (3-1).

Brothers’ senior footballer Arup Kumar Baidya made the match very exciting one in the 76th minute scoring the 2nd goal for his team by a good header (3-2).

Brothers Union dominated the match for the last few minutes but failed to leave the field with any point.
