Agriculture Extension Department (AED) is expecting over 35,140 tonnes of summer vegetables will be produced in three upazilas of the district during the current season.District AED office sources said 1,455 hectors of land was fixed for the cultivation with the production target of 20,370 tonnes of vegetables in Sadar, Lohagora and Kalia upazila of the district.The target of vegetables cultivation has already been exceeded here. The farmers brought 2,510 hectors under the cultivation bringing additional 1,055 hectors, the sources added.The cultivated vegetables include ladies finger, basil, bottle gourd, white gourd, sweet gourd, cucumber, brinjal, jhinga, karola, borboti, puishak, lalshak and potol. -BSS, Narail
