Bogra – Five people were killed and 30 others injured as a bus and a truck collided at Banani in Shahjahanpur upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
Police and witnesses said the Dhaka-bound air-conditioned bus of ‘SR Paribahan’ from Rangpur collided head-on with the truck on Bypass Road-1 around 3 pm, killing the five on the spot and injuring others.
The deceased include a woman and a child.
Twenty-one of the injured were admitted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, said officer-in-charge of Shahjahanpur Police Station Mahmudul Alam.
The bus driver was talking over mobile phone during the accident, said police super of Bogra Mozammel Haque. – UNB
