General Ashab made envoy to Kuwait

DHAKA – The government today announced appointment of Major General Mohammad Ashab Uddin as the country’s new ambassador to Kuwait.A foreign office spokesman said prior to his new diplomatic assignment after his transfer to the foreign ministry several months ago, Ashab was serving as the general officer commanding of army’s 24 infantry division based in Chittagong.
Commissioned in 1979 with the 1st Regular batch, he earlier also served as the GOC of 9th infantry division at Savar alongside other appointments in command, staff and instructional positions including UN peace keeping missions abroad.
Ahsab obtained his graduation degree from Chittagong University, Masters in Defense Studies and Masters in Political Science from National University and Masters of Philosophy (M.Phil) from University of Madras, India. – BSS
