A businessman was shot dead by the miscreants in Jatrabari area of the city on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam.
Officer-in-Charge of Jatrabari Thana Mizanur Rahman told banglnews that a group of armed terrorists opened fire on him and managed to flee the scene, leaving him injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, he added.
