Case filed over Hindu ashram caretaker murder

Dhaka – A case has been filed against some unidentified people in connection with the murder of a caretaker of a Hindu ashram at Hemayetpur in Sadar upazila of Pabna district, Unb news agency reported.Jugol Kishor Ghosh, acting general secretary of the ashram, Sree Sree Thakur Anukul Chandra Ashram, filed the case with Sadar police station around 11pm on Friday, said Abdullah Al Hasan, officer-in-charge of the police station.
Earlier, Nitya Ranjan Pandey, 62, son of late Rashik Lal Pandey of Gopalganj, a caretaker of the ashram, was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at Hemayetpur in Sadar upazila early Friday in the same style the three other people were killed in different parts of the country this week.
OC said Nitya Ranjan Pandey set out for a morning walk in the area around 5 am.
When he came close to Pabna Mental Hospital, a group of miscreants stabbed him in the head and neck, leaving him dead on the spot.
Nitya Ranjan had been serving at the ashram for 40 years.
