Case filed over recovery of mother, daughter’s bodies in Ctg

Chittagong  – A case was filed on Wednesday against seven people in connection with the recovery of the bodies of a housewife and her five-year-old daughter from their residence in Boalkhali upazila. Bidhan Shil, mother of deceased Shelly Shil, filed the case with Boalkhali Police Station accusing Shelly’s husband and six of his relatives.The bodies of Shelly Shil, 35, wife of Asim Shil of Dakkhin Kanjuri village at Saroatali union parishad of the upazila, and their daughter Antara were recovered on Tuesday noon.
Shelly Shil was found hanging from the ceiling in her bedroom while Antara Shil was found dead on the bed.Asim Shil remained absconding since the recovery of the bodies.The couple had another child — eight-month-old Anurag.Police have already arrested Shelly’s mother-in-law Sabita Rani and her brother Sukumar Shil in the case.Shelly’s brother Sujon Shil, a constable of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP), said Shelly’s in-laws used to demand dowry from her since the marriage eight years ago.The family members alleged that Asim and his family members killed Shelly and her daughter over the issue and they were trying to hush up the actual incident claiming it a suicide one.Officer-in-charge of Boalkhali Police Station Md Salahuddin said they are yet to confirm whether the incident was a suicide or murder.Police are trying to arrest the rest of the accused and mystery behind the murder can be unearthed after further investigation, the OC added.
