Cattle traders robbed of Tk2 lakh in Sherpur

Robbers looted Tk2 lakh from some cattle traders after beating them in
Halgarh area of Sreebardi upazila early Monday.
Police said some traders along with cattle loaded in 10/15 human
haulers (Bhotbohti) were going to other places from Bakshiganj upazila
of Jamalpur district early in the morning.
When they reached Halgarh on the Sherpur-Sribardi Road, a gang of
armed robbers attacked the vehicles and snatched around Tk2 lakh and
two cattle from their possession.
The robbers also beat up two traders as they resisted them, leaving
them injured.
The injured were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
On information, police rushed to the spot but the robbers managed to
flee the scene.
Officer-in-charge of Sreebardi Police Station Mohammad Ali Sheikh said
police arrested two people—Sony, 28, and Robin, 25 — from the area on
charge of committing the robbery.
A case was filed in this connection.
