DSE, CSE down on Tuesday

Country’s both the bourses — Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) — suffered loss on Tuesday, the third trading day of the week.   The volume of trade in terms of value in Taka in both the bourses was significantly lower on the day.   The DSE benchmark index, DSEX lost 9.19 points or 0.23 percent to reach 3928.48 at close of trading today. Of the 286 issues traded, 156 gained, 113 declined and 23 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 240.51 crore changed hands on the day.   The day’s top 10 losers at the DSE were Modern Dying, Desh Garments, DBH, Savar Refracteries, Monno Staff, Legacy Food, JMI Syringe, Hakkani Publishers, Eastern Tubes, and Libra Infusion.   The CSE key index, CSCX lost 2.97 points to reach 7671.08 at the close today (Tuesday). Of the 208 issues traded, 89 gained, 96 declined and 23 remained unchanged. The value of the traded issues was Tk 20.17 crore today (Tuesday).   Earlier in the day, the DSEX gained 20.87 points or 0.53 percent to reach 3958.56 at 11:00 am while the CSCX gained 42.92 points to stand at 7716.98, also at 11:00 am today. – UNB
