CEC returns home Monday after 42-day vacation

Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Rakibuddin Ahmad returns home on Monday after his 42 days of vacationing in the USA.
The CEC is scheduled to arrive on Monday morning by a Turkish flight, said CEC’s Personal Secretary Mazharul Islam said.Rakibuddin went to the USA on March 3 amid the countrywide staggered upazila elections that drew huge criticisms from various quarters.
During his stay there, he visited the headquarters of the World Bank in Washington, Election Commission Secretariat sources said.
The last three phases of the upazila elections were held amid massive violence and irregularities in absence of the CEC. – UNB
