Seven-year-old ‘Nahid’ will not return home to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with his family.A speeding pickup truck ran him over, killing him on the spot. Nahid was on his way to attend Eid prayers when the accident occurred on Friday in Tangail, police said.
He was a first grade student at Hatila Government Primary School.
Tangail model police Sub Inspector Abdul Kaium said Nahid was run over by a vehicle at Bhatkura at around 8am when he was on his way to say Eid prayers with his father Alam Khan.
Locals blocked the Dhaka-Tangail Highway for nearly an hour and damaged at least five auto-rickshaws after the incident.
