Dhaka – The Pir Shaheb of Charmonai Mufti Syed Muhammad Rezaul Karim in a press statement has called upon the government to repeal of what he termed as atheistic education policy and law, and called for submission of memoranda to deputy commissioners of districts in support of the demand.The Pir Shaheb who is also the Ameer of the Islami Andolan Bangladesh (IAB) said inhis statement that the forces opposed to independent and sovereign existence of Bangladesh were playing a significant role in the formulation of the said education policy.
The Charmonai Pir said that lessons containing messages against the independent existence of Bangladesh have been introduced in SSC level syllabi and this amounted to dishonouring the sacrifices of the forerunners of Bangladesh’s independence – Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq, Husseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy, Moulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, according to an IAB press release.
