Mymensingh, April 6 – Chhatra League of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has taken the charge of student-teacher center (TSC) canteen allegedly without following any written agreement.Sources said, Mohammad Sohel Miah is in charge of TSC canteen for 15 years by giving fixed amount of money every month to university administration. From on Wednesday, BCL leaders told Sohel that they would improve the food quality and increase the food items.
Later, without the permission of the students’ affairs adviser office, Chhatra League started supervising of the canteen by putting their man at canteen cash.
General students unwilling to disclose their names said that, we have to eat low quality food at high prices at residential halls dining because of the running of Chhatra League activists. We came to eat at TSC Canteen for a good quality meal at low price.
Sohel said, I have been running canteen as per saying of BCL for the past three days. I will not stay if it is continuing happens.
BAU BCL president Md Sabuj Kazi said that some of our activists are supervising for improve the food quality and increase food items. If we cannot improve the food, we will give up the responsibility.
Without knowing that BCL has already started running the canteen, Students’ affairs adviser Prof Dr S D Chowdhury said that, I did not giving permission Chhatra League to run the canteen. We will take decision on Sunday on this matter. – BAU Correspondent
