Bangladesh Student Union (BSU) of JU unit condemned threat against journalist of Jahangirnagar University (JU) and yellow journalism of 71’ TV correspondent on Monday in a statement signed by the unit president Dipanjan Shiddhanta Kajol and Secratery Abid Sarkar Shohag.Protesting the incident of BCL attack on journalist Shafiqul Islam, JU reporter of bdnews24.com, the department of Journalism and media studies (JMS) arranged a human chain on Thursday at central Shaheed minar premises. But electronic media 71′ tv broadcast it as a human chain of protesting the attack on Christian area, the press release said.
They leaders intimated the condemnation and said media is the mirror of the nation, but due to yellow journalism negative reports spread through the media to the masses. The journalist’s should be more conscious and responsible of their profession. – JU Correspondent
