Chinese students invited to explore Bangladesh’s beauty

Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing on Thursday held a reach-out event and briefed Chinese students about Bangladesh and its relations with China in line with Embassy’s Liaojie Mengjiala (Explore Bangladesh) programme.

Around 60 students from different provinces of China participated in the event along with their teachers.

Terming Bangladesh a land of beauty, Bangladesh Ambassador in Beijing M Fazlul Karim mentioned about different scenic spots, including Cox’s Bazar, the Sundarbans and Sylhet, and invited them to visit and explore Bangladesh along with their partners.

A documentary on Bangladesh, several video clips on tourism and culture were screened, according to the Bangladesh Mission in Beijing.

The students were given a brief overview about Bangladesh, its location, history, culture, food and heritage.

The Chinese students and teachers were also briefed about the Embassy activities and Bangladesh-China cooperation.

Ambassador Karim briefed the students about the rich history of Bangladesh – starting from the language movement to the historic March 7 speech of Bangabandhu that motivated Bengalees to stand against oppression and repression.

“We had a visionary leader, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, whose charismatic leadership united the nation and ultimately earned us long cherished independence in 1971,” said the Ambassador.

The event was organised as part of promotional events and the idea is to reach out to the general people of China.
