A young man was killed and 10 other people were injured in a clash between two groups of villagers over a land-related dispute at Kenai Madhyapara in Faridpur upazila on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Jakirul Islam Jaku, 35, son of Sohrab Pramanik of the village.
Locals and police said there had been a longstanding conflict between Jakirul Islam and Ramzan of the village over a piece of land.
As a sequel to the conflict, men of the duo equipped with lethal arms locked in a clash in the village at about 9.00am, leaving Jakirul dead on the spot and 10 others injured.
On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex.
Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Akram Hossain, officer-in-charge of Faridpur Police Station, confirmed the incident.
Later, additional police members were deployed in the area to avoid further trouble. -UNB, Pabna
