A local Awami League activist was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Dhobra Bazar area of Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj on Friday evening.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kalam Azad, 32, a local activist of the ruling party and son of Abdus Salam of Paridilalpur village in the upazila.A group of miscreants chopped Azad indiscriminately in a mango orchard in the area around 6pm, leaving him dead on the spot, said MM Mainul Islam, officer-in-charge of Shibganj Police Station.
On receiving the information, police recovered the body. Police arrested three people in connection with the murder. – UNB
