Students of Rajshahi University (RU) brought out a coffin procession on the campus demanding the justice against the murder Professor Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, a teacher of English department of the university.
Protesting students chanting different slogans, brought out a procession under the banner “Mukul Protibad O Sanghati Mancha” around 10:00am where the slain teacher’s daughter Rezwana Sotovi was also present.Later, Sotovi made speech requesting everybody to keep up the agitation saying, “The protest must go on otherwise ensuring justice will be impossible”.
The students and teachers formed a human chain in front of the senate building around 12:30pm.
On the other hand, there is to be a Massive gathering of teachers organised by University Teachers Association of Bangladesh on the campus on Tuesday.
Besides, Human Chain seeking trial of killers of Professor Rezaul Karim was formed on behalf of Barendra University on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway. – RU Correspondent
