A college girl who failed in this year’s HSC examinations allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in Bhim Bazar area of the city on Sunday night.The deceased was identified as Champa Akhter, 18, daughter of Delwar Hossain, a resident of the area.Police, quoting locals, said Champa, who had appeared at this year’s HSC examinations from local Rover Palli Degree College, went to the college in the afternoon to know her result that was published on that day.Later, she returned home upset in the afternoon as she failed in the examination and she hanged herself with her scarf from the fan in her room around 9pm.On information, police rushed to the spot.Sub-inspector Syed Azharul Islam, in-charge of Hotapara police station, confirmed the incident. -UNB, Gazipur
