Mr. Nurul Huq chowdhury alias Comrade Mehdi died of heart ailments at the Bangabandhu Shekh Mujib Medical University Hospital at about 3 PM on Sunday. He was 82A renowned left political leader he was the head of ‘Garibi Hatao Andolan’ and promoted reform of railway.
Alife-long bachelor he was dedicated to the rights of common man and organised workers of the printing industry till his last breath.
Comrade Mehdi was admitted to the hospital before the Eid Ul Azha.His body will be kept at the National Shaheed Minar from 9 am to 11 am on Monday for the people to pay respects. His Namaz e Janaza will be held at the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after the Zohr prayer, his close associates said.- Staff Reporter
