Construction of fire service station begins in Birganj

The construction work of Birganj Fire Service and Civil Defense Station (FSCDS) began at Birganj upazila town in Dinajpur on Saturday afternoon to full-fill long-cherished demand of the local people.
Member of the Parliament from Dinajpur-1 constituency Manoranjan Sheel Gopal formally inaugurated the construction work through unveiling the foundation stone at a ceremony arranged on the occasion there as the chief guest.
Birganj upazila chairman Akhterul Islam Chowdhury, Project Director of the Department of Fire Service and Civil Defence Major AKM Shakil Newaz, its Acting Assistant Director Liyakat Ali, Executive Engineer of Public Works Division Masudul Alam, attended as the special guests.
Upazila vice-chairman Gopal Deb Sharma, Awami League leaders Tarikul Islam, Mosarraf Hossain Bakul and Rafikul Islam, Krishak League leader Shibly Sadik and local elite were present in the ceremony with Birganj UNO Arzoo Ara Begum in the chair.
While addressing the ceremony, the chief guest said that the present grand alliance government led by Prime Minster Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for accelerating uniform uplift of all regions in the country.
After completion of the construction work, the FSCDS would fulfill long-cherished demand of the people of Birganj and save huge properties from being gutted every year in the area, he added. -BSS, Rangpur
