Construction work of ICT Centre begins in Gaibandha

Construction work of ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Training and Resource Centre began at Sadullapur upazila in the district very recently amid much enthusiasm to the teachers and the locals.
The centre is being built at a cost of Taka one crore with the financial grant of Republic of South Korea at the direct supervision of the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh Government, said M. Abu Taher, an official of the project.The objective of ICT training and resource centre is to conduct
training for the teachers of secondary and higher secondary level and the men particularly the youths of the upazila to help them acquire
knowledge on ICT to face the challenges of 21st century during the age of globalization.The centre will have 35 computers, high speed Internet connectivity and a server with all sorts of ICT facilities side by side with having a cyber caf, for the teachers to internet browse.Upazila parishad chairman (Incharge) Akter Banu Lucky said, this centre would be a full-fledged computer lab where the teachers and the locals of the upazila would know the ICT knowledge properly to develop the professional skill and career.With the construction of the building, the upazila would go advance
one step in ICT and the centre would play a significant role in building efficient and skilled human resources, she also said.BSS, Gaibandha
