Dhaka – A construction worker died after being struck by a wooden board that fell from an under-construction building at Uttara in the city on Saturday night. The deceased was identified as Manir Ahmed, 18, son of Abul Kashem, a resident of Chadarbesh village Sonagazi upazila of Feni district. He used to stay overnight at the under-construction building in Sector 18 of Uttara.
Sub-inspector Bacchu Miah, Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp in-charge, said Manir was leaving the premises when the plank fell on him at the construction site around 8pm, leaving him seriously injured.
He was whisked off to a local clinic and later shifted to DMCH around 10:30pm where he succumbed to his injuries around 11pm.
