Two people, including a police constable, were killed and five others injured as a prison van overturned on west side link road of Jamuna bridge at Mulibari in Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The deceased were identified as police constable Monir Hossain, 32, posted at Kashimpur jail and hailed from Mymensingh and Surjo Mandal, of Mulibari area of the district.Witnesses said the prison van carrying two condemned convicts of a murder case from Kashimpur jail to the district town turned turtle on the road while giving side to a pedestrian, leaving Monir and Surjo dead on the spot around 9:30 am.Four other police constables and the two condemned convicts were also injured. -UNB, Sirajganj
