A police constable was killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.The deceased was identified as Kafil Uddin, 45, son of Ajgor Ali Fakir, a resident of Sajjonkanda village in Rajbari sadar upazila, and a gunman of former Deputy Speaker Sawkat Ali.Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station said the accident occurred in Vatbaur area when a truck hit the motorcycle Kafil was ridding on way to Dhaka, leaving him dead on the spot.Later police seized the truck from Manikganj bus stand but its driver and helper managed to flee.The body was sent to Manikganj Sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.A case was filed in this connection. -UNB, Manikganj
