A minor boy drowned in a pond at Ayra village in Tanor upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.The deceased was identified as Mahmud, 5, son of Khabir Uddin, a teacher of Mundumala Dakhil Madrasah.Family sources said Mahmud drowned in the pond in Mundumala area while he was playing with other children.Later locals recovered his floating body and sent it to the local health complex where on-duty doctors declared him dead. -UNB, Rajshahi
