Dhaka – An army officer was killed as his bicycle was hit by a covered van in Notun Khoyertola of the Jessore in Benapole on Sunday night.The deceased was identified as Abdul Barik, 35, a corporal of Jessore cantonment.Habibur Rahman, sub-inspector of Kotwali Police Station, said that the Jhenidah-bound covered van hit Barik as he was cycling home in the area around 8:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.On information, police recovered the body.UNB news agency
