The council of Awami League district units the tenures of which have already expired will be held by October 30 this year.
The decision was taken at a meeting of Awami League joint secretaries and organising secretaries at Awami League President Sheikh Hasina’s Dhanmondi political office.The meeting also decided that the council of Khulna and Rajshahi city units, Patuakhali, Barguna, Kishoreganj and Thakurgaon district units will be held in the first phase by July 15, said a party press release on Monday.
The meeting, chaired by Awami League general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam, also discussed other organisational issues. – UNB
