Dhaka – Four people sustained burn injuries as some miscreants hurled acid towards them in Rupnagar Tin Shed area of the city on Thursday morning.
The injured were identified as Masuda Akter Subarna, 28, a garment worker, her husband Suruj Alam Khan, daughter Sanjida Sultana Rima, 8, and sister Nilufar, 32.Inspector Mozammel Hoque, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police camp, said Subarna and her husband gave opposite statements over the incident.
Subarna alleged her husband hired the goons to carry out the acid attack on her over a conjugal dispute.
However, Suruj refusing the allegation said a man came to his house around 6am and asked about Subarna.
Suruj, then, took the man into his home while the unidentified man hurled acid towards them, leaving the four injured.
Later, they were taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
