Expressing hope that the opposition BNP will join the budget session of the parliament, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury said the matter of releasing the BNP leaders would be solved under the legal process.She came up with the assertion while talking to journalists after inaugurating the ‘26th Multiple Annual Convention of Lions Club
International’ at a city hotel on Saturday.
She said, “As the parliament session is forthcoming, I humbly request the court to consider about release of opposition leaders under certain legal procedure.”
Dr Shirin added: “The opposition wanted to join the session. But they demanded their leaders’ release.”
She added: “It is mandatory to join parliament to BNP leaders MK Anwar and Barkat Ullah Bulu for constitutional obligations.”
She also said, “I will ensure the rights of the opposition inside the House.” (Source: banglanews)
