A Chittagong University student, who was injured falling off the
railing in the corridor of his hall on Tuesday night, died at
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) early Wednesday.
The deceased identified as Ariful Islam, 23, a first year student of
the Statistics Department of the university and resident of Shah
Amanat Hall.
He hails from Noakhali.
Prof M Mansur, provost of the hall, said Arif fell off the second
floor of the hall at about 11.00pm while he was talking over mobile
phone sitting on the railing of its corridor and sustained severe
injuries.
He was rushed to the university medical centre and later, after his
condition deteriorated, shifted to the CMCH where he died at 5:30am.
