DCCI, JCI to promote 2000 new entrepreneurs

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Junior Chamber International, Bangladesh (JCI) was signed here on Tuesday, aiming to promote the DCCI project of creating 2000 new entrepreneurs.   DCCI President M Sabur Khan and National President of JCI, Bangladesh Mostafizur Rahman Sohel signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.   Speaking on the occasion, the DCCI President said that DCCI in cooperation with Bangladesh Bank has taken a timely and noble initiative of creating new 2000 entrepreneurs in the country this year to meet the growing demand for jobs.   He said the assistance of JCI will surely boost the vision of DCCI and contribute a lot to the country’s economy.   Sabur Khan also informed that the DCCI has already completed its motivational campaign in 12 universities to encourage the students to become entrepreneurs.   Mostafizur Rahman said according to the MoU the members of JCI, Bangladesh will share their experience of entrepreneurship with the interested would-be entrepreneurs.   He said members of JCI who have not yet become entrepreneurs will also be incorporated under DCCI’s project to become new entrepreneurs.   DCCI Vice President Absar Karim Chowdhury, Directors Osman Gani, Alhaj Abdus Salam and JCI Local President K M Hasan Ripon were also present at the meeting. -UNB
