Deal signed with China to procure trainer aircraft for BAF

Bangladesh on Wednesday signed a deal with China to procure K-8W Jet trainer aircraft for Bangladesh Air Force.

Assistant Chief of Air Staff (Plans) Air Vice Marshal M Sanaul Huq and Liu Jianhai, Vice President of CATIC, signed the agreement on behalf of Bangladesh and China respectively at a ceremony at the Air Headquarters, said an ISPR release.

The government-to-government agreement is part of the implementation process of Forces Goal-2030.

Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat was present at the ceremony.

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Zhang Zuo and President CATIC also graced the occasion.

The BAF has been flying K-8W Jet trainer aircraft since 2014. Further acquisition of K-8W aircraft will certainly enhance and uplift its training capability.
