Dhaka Eskaton double murder case verdict Thursday

Dhaka, Oct 03 – A Dhaka court will on Thursday deliver its verdict in the Eskaton double murder case. The case was filed against Bakhtiar Alam Rony, son of Awami League lawmaker Pinu Khan. Judge Md Monjurul Imam of the Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge’s Court of Dhaka will deliver the verdict.
The court fixed the date on September 19 after completion of arguments on behalf of the defence and the prosecution.
Earlier, on April 10, another Dhaka court had set May 8 for delivering the verdict in the case.
However, the case was transferred to the court of Judge Md Monjurul Imam as the previous court felt embarrassed to hear the case.
On April 13, 2015, a heavily intoxicated Rony allegedly fired gunshots from his car in Dilu Road of New Eskaton area in the capital, injuring rickshaw-puller Abdul Hakim and auto-rickshaw driver Yakub, who succumbed to their injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on April 15 and April 23 respectively.
