Dhaka Land Acquisition Officer sent to jail

Dhaka, Feb 19 – Land acquisition officer of Dhaka Deputy Commissioner’s office and six others were yesterday sent to the jail in five cases filed against them for misappropriating Tk 2 crore making forged documents.
The accused persons are Land Acquisition Officer Chowdhury Golam Mortuja and six others whose identity is yet to be detected They surrendered before the court of Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court on Tuesday and sought bail in the cases.
After the hearing, Judge KM Emrul Kayesh of the court rejected their bail and ordered to send them to the jail.
Earlier on November 29, 2019, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed five cases with Kotowali Police Station against Mortuja and six others. – Special Correspondent
