A three-day ‘Digital Innovative Fair-2015’ organized by local district administration was inaugurated here today at local Ambica Memorial ground.
District administration has organized the fair with the vision of involving and informing more people of different ages and classes to the achievements and advancement of digital Bangladesh by the present government.Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Faridpur Sardar Sharafat Ali was the chief guest in the inaugural function while ADC (Education and ICT) Anowarul Islam was in the chair.Among others, ADC (Gen) Abdur Rashid, ADC (Rev) Dr. Qamruzzaman Selim, Additional Police Super Bijoy Basak, BSS Correspondent Prof. Md. Shahjahan, Rajendra College Principal Prof. Mahbubur Rahman and Yasin College Principal AHM Isahaque Mia were special guests. Assistant Commissioner and Executive magistrate Mondip Ghorai also spoke on the aims and objectives of the three day fair in the inaugural function.Inaugurating the fair DC Sharafat Ali said that the implementation of present government’s vision-2021 with the aim of building a poverty free and prosperous Bangladesh through developing information technology is the main theme of the fair.The fair will also display the e-services provided by the government and non-government agencies and success story of union e-service centers both as quick service providers as well as self employed income generating profession, the DC said.Deputy Commissioner in his speech said that the fair programs include the information of health services of common people in rural areas and agricultural sector. The people of the rural areas are now getting medical services using IT at upazilla hospitals in the district, he added.Thirty nine IT stalls of various institutions, ngos, uiscs, banks, btcl and mobile operators were set up in the fair.A large number of people were present in the inaugural function. -BSS, Faridpur
