Dinajpur Edn Board employees go on work abstention

About 85 employees of Dinajpur Education Board went on an indefinite work abstention on Wednesday morning demanding that their jobs be regularised. All board activities came to a halt after the employees began their strike at 9am demanding issuance of permanent appointment letters.
Earlier on Tuesday noon, the board authorities in a meeting decided not to issue any appointment letters to the employees who were appointed on temporary basis.
Outraged by the decision, the employees confined board chairman Prof M Alauddin Miah to his room on Tuesday afternoon.
Later, they announced that they would abstain from work from Wednesday until their job is regularised.
They alleged that the board authorities were wasting time in appointing them defying the High Court order in this regard.
Refuting the allegation, Prof Alauddin said they have decided to stop the appointment process as per the High Court’s stay order in this regard.
The board chairman said he asked the employees to join the work and informed the matter to the Education Ministry. (Source: UNB)
