Dhaka – Officials of the Department of Narcotics Control arrested a suspected drug peddler along with 800 grams of heroin from a moving bus in Shantola Check Post area on Jessore-Jhenidah road in sadar upazila in Jessoreon Tuesday afternoon.Acting on a tip-off that a drug peddler was going to Chuadanga with a consignment of heroin, two respective teams of Narcotics Control Department conducted the raid at the bus at Shantola Check Post around 1 pm.During the drive, the officials arrested Majharul Islam Lipon, son of Abdul Mannan, hailing from Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga district, along with 800 grams of heroin worth Tk 80 lakh, said Mosharaf Hossain, inspector of Narcotics Control Department.A case was filed with Kotwali Model Police Station in this connection, Mosharaf added.UNB news agency
