Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth as well as demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad(SM), according to Arabic calender was observed in Faridpur Tuesday with due religious fervor and solemnity as elsewhere across the country and the Islamic world.
In this connection Islamic Foundation, Faridpur office and the local district administration jointly arranged a discussion meeting and Milad Mahfil at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Faridpur, DC Abu Hena Morshed Zaman attended the discussion as the chief guest while ADC (Gen) Md. Jahangir Hossain in the chair.Leading Islamic thinkers, religious leaders and Imams of different mosques of the town attended the discussion. Among others Moulana Md. Momazzed Hossain, chief cleric of Chwak bazar Jame mosque, Moulana Abul Kalam Azad, Imam of Shah Farid Darga mosque, Awami League advisory council member SM Nurunnabi, Principal Moulana Md. Ibrahim and Deputy Director of Islamic Foundation Md. Akram Hossain spoke in the programme.The discussion was followed by Milad Mahfil and special prayer for peace and prosperity of Bangladesh.Besides, many other organizations arranged discussions and Milad Mahfils in the town since yesterday on the occasion. –BSS, Faridpur
