A baby was killed when a goods-laden truck ran over him at Tetultala Kharoil area on Rajshahi-Naogaon highway under Mohanpur upazila of the district on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Soykat, 4, son of Jahangir Alam of Ghashigam village under the same upazila. Quoting witnesses police said the accident occurred when a Naogaon bound speeding truck dashed the baby while he was crossing the road to response his mother’s call from other side of the road. He died on the spot.To protest against the killing, local people tried to put barricade on the road. But police minimise the situation. –BSS, Rajshahi
