The Ameer of Islami Andolan Bangladesh and the Pir Shaheb of Charmonai Mufti Syed Mohammad Rezaul Karim on Tuesday reiterated his demand for elections only under caretaker government and said that the people were not ready accept surprises from the Prime Minister’s son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.Addressing a public meeting at the Comilla Madrasah ground the Pir Shaheb demanded restoration of faith and trust in Allah, enactment of law to punish atheists and those committing blasphemy, neutral election under a non-partisan government, and establishment of good governance to turn Bangladesh into a welfare state.
The Pir Shahed said that the present government had come to power pledging not to adopt laws against the Qur’and and the Sunnah, but directly hit these ideals by deleting trust and faith in Allah Almighty from the Constitution. Statements of people close to the corridors of power were clearly directed against Masdarsah education, he added, according to an IAB press release.
