Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Thursday said the next general
election will be held in time no matter the opposition joins it or not.
“We can in no way push the country towards destruction. The election will
be held in time as per the Constitution,” he said while talking to
reporters after inaugurating the newly constructed building of a school in
Mirpur upazila. Alleging that the opposition leader Khaleda Zia is trying
to use muscle power, Inu, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal, said
nothing can be done with muscle power. “Khaleda Zia must sit in dialogue
and she will have to join the polls.” Turning to the submission of
resignation letters by the ministers to the Prime Minister, he said they
would continue to discharge their official duties until the President signs
those. Observing that there is nothing like ‘last meeting of the
Cabinet’, he said the Cabinet meeting will be held until the formation of
the all-party election-time government. He also asked those why were
