Chairman of Jatiya Party (JP) and prime minister’s special envoy, Hussain Mohammad Ershad, has appealed to all political parties, registered with the Election Commission (EC), barring the Jamaat-e-Islami, to resolve the prevailing problems facing the country through a national convention. His message was conveyed to the Awami League and Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today.
His message would be conveyed to all 39 registered political parties by tomorrow, Ershad’s political and press secretary Sunil Shuva Roy told BSS.
“Despite political differences we need to agree on some fundamental principles of state, otherwise our state will be in jeopardy,” Ershad said. – BSS
