Jhenidah – A former Shibir leader was killed in a ‘gunfight’ between his cohorts and police at Aruakandi graveyard in Sadar upazila early Saturday.The deceased was identified as Ibnul Islam Parvez, 29, son of Jahangir Hossain of Bananipara in the district town.Ajbahar Ali Sheikh, Additional Superintendent of Police of the district, said a team of police was patrolling Jhenidah-Magura Highway at night.When the police vehicle reached Aruakandi graveyard, a gang of miscreants fired shots targeting them around 2:30am, forcing the law enforcers to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.At one stage, Parvez was caught in the line of fire and died on the spot while his other associates managed to flee. Later, police recovered the body.Two police constables were also injured in the incident.Police also recovered one pistol, three bullets and some sharp
